We are the Save Our Docks and Security Association, bringing together lawful private dock owners in British Columbia to advocate for responsible stewardship and fair policy.
Who we are
A shared voice for dock owners.
Our members have invested in private docks at their coastal homes while complying with the rules that applied to them. Proposed changes to private moorage policy could have significant consequences for those owners and their communities.
SODSA exists to bring their perspectives into the conversation. We support the protection of eelgrass and marine life. We also believe decisions affecting existing lawful docks should be based on clear, current, site-specific evidence and made through a process that people can actually participate in.
We advocate for direct notice to affected owners, meaningful consultation, transparent treatment of different dock uses, and fair approaches to existing structures.
